On Thursday February 5th, Judge Carrie Glaeden was honored to receive the 2009 MADD Award of Excellence at a luncheon honoring outstanding efforts in our community to stop impaired driving.
"As a judge, I preside over many cases dealing with operating a vehicle while impaired and I see first hand the legal and social problems this causes offenders and the impact it has on many aspects of victims' lives. MADD is doing great things to help educate the public about of driving while impaired and is making great strides in reducing these incidents. I am humbled to receive this honor," stated Glaeden. "Only with the combined public outreach efforts of organizations such as MADD and tough enforcement from the bench will this devastating behavior become a sad memory."
